Too Slim and the Taildraggers are rising with Blood Moon
Too Slim and the Taildraggers is an American extraordinary rock-blues band from Spokane, Washington, United States. And they have their newest release, “Blood Moon“, in April 2016, by Underworld Record. Tim is on guitar and vocals, and employs a couple more of Nashville’s finest to round out the trio–Robert Kearns on bass and vocals, and Jeff Fowlkes on drums and vocals.
Blood Moon has amazing and unique guitar work into the rock and blues style remeniscent of iconic 1970’s music. The opening track is “Evil Mind“, a funky rocker, lead vocalist and guitar man, Tim “Too Slim” Langford, sets the track on fire with ripping pace backed by Jeff “Shakey” Fowlkes on drums and Robert Kearns on bass. The brooding “Blood Moon” and “My Body” are great examples of the way “Too Slim” himself combines melody with angst and lyrical incisiveness. You will realy get excited with “Get Your Goin’ Out On!” This one has a Sixties-era Stones feel, especially in the guitar hooks. “Gypsy” has a real interesting jazz undertone with a blues rock top. I really like this juxtaposition of styles and Langford’s tone is great. At the end of this album we have “Twisted Rails (Slight Return)” which is a cool instrumental rumble breaking from rick to a low slung blues.
Too Slim and the Taildraggers deserve an applause on this album, it has everything what is nesecery to please all types of music lovers. It doesn’t t matter if you like blues, rock or jazz, “Blood Moon” will get under your skin.
